Paris Hilton Stopped By Police for having a suspened license - 27-02-2007 (pictures)

NEW YORK (Reuters) - Celebrity heiress Paris Hilton was caught driving on a suspended license overnight and is to appear in court again -- while her blue Bentley remains impounded, police said on Wednesday.

The 26-year-old socialite and reality TV star was pulled over on Sunset Boulevard in West Hollywood at 11 p.m. on Tuesday for driving without headlights, said Deputy Sheriff Oscar Butao from the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department.

The incident comes about five weeks after Hilton was sentenced to three years probation after pleading no contest to alcohol-related reckless driving stemming from a September arrest in Hollywood.

"Miss Paris Hilton was driving the vehicle. After investigating her license status it was determined that she was driving on a suspended license," said Butao.

"Miss Hilton was cited for a suspended license violation and released in the field. Her 2007 blue Bentley Continental GTC was impounded."

He said Hilton would appear in court for driving on a suspended license but could not say when.

Paris Hilton spent her 26th birthday meal in tears after a guest ruined the party.

The blonde heiress was celebrating at the Prime Grill restaurant in Beverly Hills when a male friend started upsetting other guests, in particular American Idol judge Paula Abdul.

'He was hurling flowers and pieces of foam at her,' a source told the New York Daily News. 'He then started speaking gibberish in an Arabic accent, mocking her Syrian ancestry.'

Paula had planned to sing Happy Birthday to Paris but was so offended by the man's behaviour, she left the bash early.

The 'tired and emotional' guest then turned his attentions to Courtney Love, who was with her daughter, Frances Bean, 14 - before lunging for the expensive diamond necklace Paris had borrowed for the evening.

With Paris in tears, security staff ordered him to leave. The Simple Life star later invited friends back to her house so they could carry on partying.

Paris Hilton has had quite the upsetting week so far. First the hotel heiress' long-time friend Brandon Davis reportedly ruined her 26th birthday party by offending several guests with his lewd, inebriated behavior. If that wasn't enough now AOL's Celebrity website TMZ.Com is reporting that her beloved pet kinkajou attacked her and bit and scratched her several times during an event for Beverly Hills Choppers. Ouch!


The website has the video that shows Paris' former pet kinkajou, Baby Luv, sinking her teeth into the heiress several times. Paris finally gave Baby Luv the boot several days later when the raccoon-like pet bit her so severely that she was rushed to an area hospital and given a tetanus shot.


Just to be clear, it was the hotel heiress herself not Baby Luv that was rushed to an area hospital for the tetanus shot after the horrifying ordeal.

No word on what exactly happened to the little fury creature. No doubt, poor little “Baby Luv” has now been added to Paris’ former BFF list. Will anyone be surprised if a press report stating that the two are no longer friends emerges and she will not comment or give any interviews regarding this matter. We can only hope that Paris will stick to little purse size dogs and leave the wildlife handling to the professionals

Austria’s top celebrity event of the week was almost foiled by German border guards when they stopped celebrity heiress Paris Hilton from heading to Vienna on an expired passport.

Border agents in Munich on Wednesday told the star guest of Vienna’s Opera Ball that she could not fly into Austria when she produced an expired passport at the controls.

“My passport had expired,” a sheepish Hilton told reporters at a news conference on Thursday at a packed Vienna cinema in a mall owned by her host, Austrian building tycoon Richard Lugner.

The U.S. embassy vouched for Hilton when contacted by German authorities, and the heiress of the hotel empire was allowed to go on. But Hilton had to check in at the embassy Thursday morning at 8.30 a.m. (0730 GMT) to get an emergency passport.

Hilton’s early start came after millionaire Lugner, who since 1992 has made it a personal quest to adorn his private box at the ball with renowned showbiz figures, took her to a Valentine’s Day party where she stayed until 2 a.m. before retreating to her suite in the Vienna Hilton.

“There were really nice and sweet at the party,” said Hilton, who wore a black dress dotted with white stars. “It’s a beautiful city. I have a great view from my hotel room.”

Lugner made his fortune in the construction industry and is a society luminary in Vienna where his nickname is “mortar”.

Baywatch star Pamela Anderson, acting legend Sophia Loren, former Spice Girl Geri Halliwell and the Duchess of York, Sarah Ferguson, have accompanied Lugner over the past years to the highlight of Austria’s ball season staged in the neo-romantic splendour of one of the world’s most famous opera houses.

But none of them drew the same crowd for giving autographs to the Lugner City mall. Around 2,000 cheering, camera-phone toting fans lined up to get cans of sparkling wine Hilton is advertising for signed by the socialite.

Only a few were handed out before security guards whisked Hilton away after people in the crowd began throwing lighters, lipstick and other items for her to sign.

A school bus full of students went completely nuts as they passed Paris Hilton on one of her million shopping trips with sister Nicky yesterday.

Ear-piercing screams startled drivers as Paris waved to the passing bus, while the heiress sisters were popping between stores in West Hollywood.

The craziness didn't end there. As Nicky dropped off her sister at home, she then almost destroyed a construction zone by driving her car into wet concrete, then backing-up over a cone, until the paparazzi came to her rescue! An heiress' job is never done.

VIENNA, Austria -- She could have danced all night. Instead, she stifled yawns.

Hotel heiress/reality TV star Paris Hilton certainly didn't look like she was having a ball Thursday night at the Vienna Opera Ball, Austria's society event of the year.

Live TV coverage repeatedly showed her looking bored as she sat in her luxury box at the State Opera House.
