Nicole Richie's camp has of course denied rumors that the starlet is in rehab for anorexia and drug abuse.

Both the National Enquirer and Star magazine have claimed that super skinny Nicole checked into Beau Mooned facility and is now being treated as an out patient.

Both sources claim to have photographic evidence of Nicole arriving at rehab in her Mercedes with an overnight bag and thoroughly stand by their stories.

However, Nicole's rep has released a statement saying, "She is not in rehab. She is at home in Glendale. Sobriety is an ongoing process but she is sober."

The publicist was clear that Nicole, who has spent time in rehab for heroine addiction and was arrested for a DUI with marijuana in her system in December, is drug free. Whether or not she has an eating disorder has not been discussed.

Nicole has been publicly defensive that she does not have a body image disorder.

The star has significantly shrunk since she found fame on "The Simple Life" as Paris Hilton's wilder, chubbier BFF. Now, a fashion 'icon' in her own right, Nicole is almost half her size.

She has previously sought help with her problem, talking to doctors and nutritionists about why she is unable to gain weight. Since she has not been pictured eating recently, maybe the solution is simply eating something.

The Sun is reporting Paris will write a journal she plans to sell about her nightmare in jail. She’s said to be scheduling to write about clashes with other inmates, and horrible meals.

Paris Hilton can breathe a sigh of relief, despite the fact that she will be spending time behind bars, jail chiefs have determined to tag the socialite with an alarm device to keep her secure from current inmates.

The hotel heiress will be in contact with the prison guards 24 hours through this piece of equipment.

'The Simple Life' celebrity will be kept in 'special needs' unit of the big house, which is reserved for high-profile prisoners.

for the meantime, Hilton's jail sentence has already been reduced to 23 days from originally 45 days due to excellent behaviour.

And whilst Hilton's mom Kathy, feels her daughter's jail punishment is 'horrendous', she hopes it will set an example for many children who follow the footsteps of the 26 year-old.

"Hopefully young people who look up to Paris will learn from this," the Sun quoted Kathy, as saying.

Hilton is planned to start her sentence on June 5 at the Century Regional Detention Center in Lynwood.

Paris Hilton will not appeal against her 45-day prison sentence for violating her probation for a drink-driving conviction.

The 26-year-old is to serve only half of her sentence - about 23 days - after being given credit for good behaviour.

Los Angeles Superior Court spokeswoman Katherine Roberts said Hilton's lawyer notified the court that the reality TV star was abandoning her appeal.

Hilton is due to begin her sentence on 5 June in a suburb of Los Angeles.

Special unit

Officials said earlier this week that several factors were considered in granting her the shorter jail term, including the fact that she had appeared at her latest court hearing.

Hilton, 26, will stay in a block that contains 12 cells, each holding two people.

It is reserved for celebrities, public officials, police officers and other high-profile inmates.

The unit is part of the Century Regional Detention Centre in Lynwood, California, which holds over 2,000 prisoners.

Los Angeles County Sheriff spokesman Steve Whitmore said Hilton would have the same privileges as all other prisoners, including at least an hour out of her cell each day to shower, watch TV, take part in outdoor recreation or use the phone.

Mr Whitmore would not reveal if specific security arrangements would be made for Hilton, amid speculation the paparazzi might try to take photographs of her in prison.

"If anyone tries to take advantage of this situation they will be dealt with swiftly and harshly," Mr Whitmore told the AFP news agency.

"This is not an e-ticket ride at Disneyland. This is a serious matter and it is not to be treated frivolously," he added.

LOS ANGELES (AP) _ Paris Hilton is "emotionally distraught and traumatized" over her 45-day jail sentence and isn't capable of testifying in a civil lawsuit against her, the socialite-reality TV star's psychiatrist said.

Dr. Charles Sophy has been seeing Hilton, 26, for the past eight months and has talked with her several times since her May 4 hearing for violating the terms of her probation in an alcohol-related reckless driving case, according to court papers.

Sophy said Hilton needs time to recover from the shock of receiving jail time before testifying in a civil case brought against her by actress and diamond heiress Zeta Graff.

Messages left with Hilton's spokesman and lawyer weren't immediately returned early Tuesday.

In court papers filed Monday, Sophy said Hilton is "distraught and traumatized as a consequence of the findings at the May 4 hearing ... and her fear of incarceration."

"At this point in time," he continued, "Ms. Hilton cannot effectively respond to examination as a witness or provide any significant input into her defense."

Graff filed a $10 million lawsuit against Hilton in 2005, claiming the reality TV star spread "vicious lies" about her. Hilton has denied that she was behind a report alleging Graff once tried to grab a necklace worth $4 million from her throat.

Superior Court Judge Linda K. Lefkowitz postponed the trial to August. It had been scheduled to begin this month.

Hilton and her pal Nicole Richie star on "The Simple Life," which throws them into everyday situations. After famously feuding and filming their parts separately last season, the celebutantes have reunited as camp counselors for the show's upcoming installment on the Comcast Corp.-operated E! network.

Paris Hilton was supposed to kickoff a cross-country road race today, but sources tell TMZ she'll likely be a no-show.

Ms. Hilton is scheduled to participate in BullRun 2007, a race from Montreal to Key West, but a rep for the race now confirms to TMZ that jail-bound blonde will be chauffeured to and from destinations on the route, with the convicted socialite hosting a party at the Versace mansion in Miami.

Elliot Mintz cryptically tells TMZ that Paris "will be in L.A. this weekend," not Canada, so unless Hilton possesses the powers of Hiro Nakamura, it's safe to say the heiress won't be at the starting line.
